In 1615 the so called Gradićan or Uskok war broke out. Dvigrad was taken over and ravaged by invading troops. As a result, the surrounding villages including Pilkovići, Brajkovići and Kurili were established by the displaced citizens of Dvigrad in the 16th century. The inhabitants struck by their losses in the war and ensuing epidemics abandoned their homes and built new ones in the surrounding places and ‘stancijas’. Old stone walls with carved historical inscriptions and dates can still be seen today.

Pilkovići is a small hamlet, an oasis of peace and greenery located only 12 km from the tourist town of Rovinj. In 2005 we built this beautiful family hotel “DVA BALADURA” at precisely this location. This peaceful, family atmosphere which includes apartments decorated with care, a mini-wellness centre and restaurant will be food for all of your senses. The ‘stancija’ is dominated by a garden swimming pool surrounded by greenery and flowers. For golf enthusiasts and those who will become enthusiasts, a golf driving centre is in the process of construction along with a golf school which will employ a skilled trainer.
