Topsy Taylor has been involved in Aviation since the early 1960's and is an aviation enthusiast. She first soloed in a Piper Cub in 1962 and received her Private Pilot License in 1974. She then advanced to taking lessons in a Beach Baron 58 out of LaGuardia Airport in New York City and flew all over the northeast. As she spent summers in Newport, RI she became very involved with the aviation community and ended up serving on the Board of Executive Jet Management out of Columbus, Ohio - one of the biggest and most respected jet charter and management companies in the world. In 1985 Topsy decided she would get her Commercial Helicopter License and started taking lessons at MacArthur Airport and her flight instructor was John Kjekstad. John would soon become her partner and the same year she purchased her first helicopter and started Helicopter Flight Services with John. The first helicopter was a Bell 206 Jet Ranger which was customized at Edwards and Associates. Every helicopter since has been customized by Edwards & Associates. Topsy's main focus in our business is safety, integrity and being #1 in the helicopter business. John Kjekstad has more than 11,000 hours of combined helicopter and fixed wing experience. Most of his time is in Bell Helicopters 206 B/L and the Bell 407. John holds an Airline Transport Rating, the highest rating possible to obtain. In addition, he is a Certified Flight Instructor and instrument flight instructor in helicopters.
