Maribor, European Capital of Culture in 2012

| Maribor, jointly with Guimarães, is going to be European Capital of Culture in 2012. This Slovenian city aim to reanimate the city in its geographical and symbolic centre. The former Grand Coffee House at Glavni trg 1 (formerly also the Maribor Casino) will be one of the central venues of the whole ECOC. It will host the exhibitions Maribor and its Germans, Slovenians in Austrian Styria, The Slovenian Middle Class, and the Regional Book Fair. |
