Early in my restaurant-bar career, I developed a passion for Italian cuisine and a vision of the establishment I someday wanted to open; a restaurant-bar that serves fresh, simply prepared seasonal fare in a cozy and inviting neighborhood setting. In 1993, along with friend Mario Batali, the ideal location was found here in the heart of the historical West Village, New York, USA.
Executive Chef Lee McGrath is surrounded by family run Italian specialty shops, who deliver our ingredients by foot or bicycle, along with produce delivered daily by our organic grower in the Hudson Valley. The dinning room is overseen by Fredi Romero, offering guests a warm, comfortable setting, with a competent and knowledgeable staff. We pride ourselves on providing you with a reasonably priced menu along with a relaxing dining experience.
