Tip 1: The Golden Triangle: the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and the Reina Sofia Museum and the Padro. The presence of these three art museums has catapulted Madrid in to the stratosphere of the art world. Each of these museums is a treasure in its own right and combined they have become a must-see for visitors.

Tip 2: The Reina Sofia art museum: see the work of Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali.

Tip 3: Santiago Bernabeu: If you like football take a stadium tour in the stadium from the Real Madrid football team! Take a panoramic view of the stadium, visit the trophy room, walk around the pitch and the presidential balcony, walk through the players tunnel and see the dressing rooms.

Tip 4: The Royal Palace of Madrid: The rooms of the Palacio Real are gorgeous and decorated in style can only be described as striking. Be sure to see the Throne Room (preserved intact since the reign of Charles III), the Kings Chamber, and the Porcelain Room.

Tip 5: Madrid's Attraction Park: With over forty rides or shows or spend all day going around the three water rides to keep cool! Or visit Parque Warner Bross, The newest and largest of Madrid’s theme parks. Styled on Disneyland or Universal studios this is the theme park of Bugs Bunny & company.

Tip 6: Plaza Mayor: is located in the heart of Old Town Madrid, it is the grand square of the city. Known for its architecture and vast expanse, the Plaza is best known as one of the city's most popular meeting places.

Tip 7: Shopping mall Xanadú which includes a snow park where you can ski on artificial snow. A different way of shopping in Madrid is going to its flea market (rastro) on Sunday morning, the market is in Ribera de Curtidores.

Tip 8: You can't leave Madrid without having tasted the famous "cocido madrileño" (a kind of soup with chickpeas and meats) which is the traditional madrilean dish of excellence. Some exceptionally good restaurants are: Jockey in Amador de los Ríos, and El Amparo (in callejón de Puigcerdá.
